Major I-405 Project Will Extend from Van Nuys to Westwood
Caltrans will hold a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 24 to discuss the I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project. The meeting will cover construction plans, upgrades, and safety improvements.

What the I-405 Project Includes
This $143.7 million project will improve I-405 between Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys and Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood. Work is scheduled to start in spring/summer 2025 and continue through winter 2029.

Planned Construction Features
The project includes:

Replacing two lanes in each direction from Victory Blvd to Mulholland Dr

Repairing other lanes throughout the corridor

Replacing slabs at six bridge locations from Mulholland Dr to Wilshire Blvd

Restoring or replacing 10 culverts

Upgrading 10 ADA-compliant curb ramps at ramps

Upgrading 6,400 feet of metal guardrail

Replacing 98 road signs and 2 overhead sign structures

Building 4 maintenance vehicle pullouts (MVPs)

Upgrading 2.5 miles of fiber conduit and replacing fiber-optic cables
