Important Emergency Preparedness Information

Please attend our Lake Balboa NC Emergency Preparedness Meeting/Drill thisSaturday, August 1st, 8:00 to 11:00 AM, at our Emergency Preparedness Bin, located in the Woodley Lakes Golf Course Parking Lot at 6631 Woodley Ave.  Go south on Woodley Ave. from Victory Blvd., past the Orange Line Busway, to the second driveway on the right.  (See the Woodley Lakes Golf Course sign as you turn into the driveway.)  Drive to the red stop sign.  Turn left into the parking lot.  Take the second aisle to the right.  See the tan steel cargo container straight ahead.  Park and walk to the Bin.  ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Services), ACS (Amateur Communication Services) and the National Guard will also be there conducting an Emergency Communications Drill.  IT WILL BE HOT!  BRING WATER, A HAT, AND SUNSCREEN!  WEAR YOUR CERT VEST IF YOU HAVE ONE!

In the event of a major disaster, the contents of this bin are for use by LAPD, LAFD, Medical professionals, and CERT trained responders.  We want every stakeholder in Lake Balboa to know where this bin is located and what its contents are!  Our EP Bins will become Information Centers for the Community after a disaster with the use of Radio Equipment by licensed Ham operators.  We'll have useful information such as the locations of open Red Cross shelters, medical facilities, grocery stores and pharmacies, and other Community news.

While you do not have to participate in the drill, please come and familiarize yourself with the bin.  Bring your neighbors, friends, family, co-workers and any CERT trained people you know!

THEN, ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5TH, WE NEED YOUR HELP!   THE LAKE BALBOA NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL WILL DECIDE WHETHER TO CHALLENGE CITY HALL AND THE CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE CONCERNING EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS BINS FOR LAKE BALBOA AND CONSTITUENTS OF ALL NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCILS!   WE ARE INVITING THE MEDIA TO HEAR FROM US CONCERNING EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS BINS FOR LAKE BALBOA AND CONSTITUENTS OF  ALL NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCILS!  WE'RE FIGHTING FOR THE ENTIRE CITY!  COME TELL US HOW EP BINS WILL HELP YOUR NC STAKEHOLDERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS GET/BE READY FOR DISASTER!  PLEASE ATTEND OUR LBNC BOARD MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, 8/5/15, 7:00 PM, (6:30 MEET & GREET), AT GAULT STREET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AUDITORIUM, 17000 GAULT STREET, (ONE BLOCK SOUTH OF SHERMAN WAY, AND ONE BLOCK WEST OF BALBOA BLVD.)
