Hi, Everybody: This Saturday, May 11th, is our Lake Balboa Emergency Preparedness Meeting at 9:00 AM at the Flyaway Bus Terminal upstairs in the Community Room. That's located at 7610 Woodley Avenue (NE Corner of Saticoy and Woodley). Plenty of FREE PARKING in the short-term lot out front in the spaces closest to the street. COME INSIDE the building and take the elevator up to the second floor, or you can take the steps out front.
This week's meeting will be a fun one -- we're going to talk about Which Items Will Be Gone From Store Shelves First (provided there are any stores open!) after a disaster strikes. In other words, which items do you REALLY need to be stocked up on. Some of these I bet have never crossed your mind!
Sunday, May 19th, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, is Election Day for Lake Balboa Neighborhood Council in the Auditorium at Gault Street Elementary School, 17600 Gault Street. If you live, work, own property in, go to school or Church/Synagogue in (or have kids that do), or are part of an organization that meets or is housed in Lake Balboa, you are eligible to vote in our Election. We will have a Shredding Event from 10:00 am 'til 1:00 pm, Free Pizza (as long as it lasts), and Live Music! Come join the fun! You can see a 2 minute statement from each of our candidates at https://lakebalboanc.org. All our candidates work hard as Community Volunteers, and they will really appreciate your vote! Please come out and vote for your choices.
Also on May 11th at 1:00 PM, LBNC will dedicate the two new Chess Tables it is donating to Louise Park, corner of Louise and Sherman Way (SE corner). Come join us! And Saturday is also Fire Service Day throughout the City. Visit your local Fire Station and meet your local heroes!
Please see the Agenda link below for more information, and we hope to see you Saturday at the EP Meeting.
