Caltrans has announced overnight lane reductions on Interstate 405 through the Sepulveda Pass for pavement rehabilitation work. The construction will take place between Wilshire Boulevard and Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive starting Monday, November 3 and ending the morning of Friday, November 7. No work will be performed during the Veterans Day weekend.

Lane Reduction Schedule

Monday, Nov. 3 – Friday, Nov. 7
Each night from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

  • Northbound I-405: Up to two lanes closed between Wilshire Blvd and Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive

  • Southbound I-405: Up to three lanes closed between Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive and Wilshire Blvd

Friday, Nov. 7 at 6:01 a.m. – Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11:59 p.m.

  • No work scheduled in observance of Veterans Day

Project Overview

This work is part of the I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project, a long-term effort to repave and improve freeway safety and mobility through the Sepulveda Pass, from Van Nuys to Westwood. The project is expected to run from Spring/Summer 2025 through Winter 2028/2029, and will invest $143.7 million in extending pavement life along the corridor.
